What's New
November 7th: Not really much of an update this time around. I have lots of WIPS but not much to add to the site. I did however whip up a kinda neat sketch of Keira Knightley
as Nightcat.
I've also been spending my time doing the last editing/final touches on the book and uploaded the good copy of the first several chapters here as well. The chapter illustrations are also going to
get revamped in the near future and the design of it had been changed somewhat. I plan on getting that uploaded in the next little bit.
September 27th: Well, the date's a bit of a misnomer. I have actually updated the site before my last entry but was too lazy to do a write up about it. So quite frankly
I don't really remember what all I've updated. (My bad) I do know I added some pictures of Willow a while back and also replace the Sneek Peek of "The Darkness of Shadows" with the first 6 chapters.
I know definately I added the chapter
illustrations because I just finished uploading those a minute ago. :) That's all I can think of right at this particular point in time so I'm going to sign off.
June 4th: Several updates this time around
the most notable is the new section for "The Darkness of Shadows". The
Nightcat section was getting a bit big to stuff everything in there so I'm
going to have my Nightcat related pictures in that section and anything
specifically book related will go in the "Darkness of Shadows" section.
I've added a pages for some of the notable quotes from the book and a breakdown
of the characters that appear in the book. Just for fun I also created a
page for the cast of characters and who I think would play who in the book and
a reason as to why. (Talk about jumping to conclusions. The book
isn't even published and I'm already thinking which actor should play who if
there was a movie to be made, but hey, it's all in good fun.) The last
section to be added was the trivia for the book and how I came up with names,
ideas etc so enjoy!
May 30th: I've really been into this whole writing business and there are days where I can't get my head out of the clouds and concentrate an anything else. It's not
so bad on a weekend but it's downright annoying when I have to work during the week. "The Darkness of Shadows" is officially completed (it's approximately 296 pages) and it's currently in the
editing phase. I've also been looking around for some publishers and found one that is really promising. They publish e-books and the main requirement is
a human or humanoid character physically changing into something else. I thought it would fit the book perfectly. I still have to write up a query letter though but have been too
sidetracked with writing book #2. It's tentative title is "The Ouroboros Factor" and it happens approximately 3 months after the first book. I've got a lot of the little plot ideas down on paper
and am just trying to figure out how to tie them all together. I've just started it May 11th and have already completed 14 pages so far. Granted they are random chapters and I haven't figured out where chronologically it
will go in.
I've also whipped up a couple new sketches. Well, technically one new sketch and a new photoshopped image of Nightcat. I'm also in the process of sketching out ideas for the illustrations for each of
the chapters in the first book. All I really have right now is a bunch of stick people on paper and I'm just fiddling around with the layout of the pictures. There's 22 chapters and a prologue and epilogue so that's a bunch of pictures.
What I may do is cheat and use several of my pictures I already created in
Photoshop and use those because they tie to the storyline. I'm also working on a cover image. I know what I want that layout to be for that
I just need to get off my lazy butt and get drawing and photoshopping. Well, enough of my rambling. I'm going to sign off and get some more writing done.
March 15th: A few more updates this time around. I've added several
pictures to the new Star Trek section under Fan Art. There's also a new
WIP of Nightcat under the WIP section and I've uploaded a picture of me under
the About the Author section. A few things were also reworked on the
backend a bit and seeing as all went well, you probably haven't noticed a
difference. And that's a good thing.
Feb 8th: Well it's been a few months and a bunch of stuff has been going on lately.
(Hence the lack of updates ) First off, I've now gotten a new job as a webmaster for a prominent jewellery company.
It's going great, and I absolutely love it there. It's really nice when you can 'play' around all day long on the computer and get paid for it! LOL A bunch of the stuff I'm learning there,
I know I can implement here on my site as well.(CSS, Flash etc...) I've been getting a fair amount of overtime lately so my time's been occupied with work.
In my spare time I'm been working on "The Darkness of Shadows". I know on a previous post I said I'd like to have it done by Christmas but it didn't quite work out that way. Which I don't mind,
I'd rather take my time. Now it's about 260 pages long and I just have filler to put in, so by the time it's finished it'll probably end up being around the 300 page mark or so. I did up a new drawing for one of the last chapters and it shows Nightcat
looking rather bruised and battered. Nothing fancy just yet but I am starting to photoshop it and make the blood nice and sticky looking.
(Yes, I'm sadistic and enjoy putting Nightcat through hell. I mean what a better way to humanize her?) The other image the I've uploaded is one of a cross stitch that I completed recently. It was only about 3x3.5 inches so it only took my about 2 weeks to complete.
I've got several more that I'll do up shortly and those are rather small as well so it shouldn't take to long to complete.
On a completely non-related tangent, I had the pleasure of attending an
Arrogant Worms concert on Feb 6th. There was also a pre-concert seminar thingy that was put on that dealt with songwriting but the best part about it was the Worms came and it was like a one on one with them and the small group of people at this seminar.
Unfortunately Mike was unable to attend due to a family emergency so only Trevor and Chris were at the seminar. I got my picture taken with them and got their autographs as well. The concert was an absolute blast! They had someone by the name of Tim filling in for Mike and he made out pretty good.
Poor Chris almost forgot the words to "The Prescription Song" and then at the end of the concert we had the pleasure of watching Trevor play the guitar. He and Chris sang "The Mountie Song" and (once again) Chris forgot the words and they had to start it over. It was rather funny. Poor Trevor was
worried about screwing up the song and playing the wrong chords but it was Chris who screwed up. Trevor turned to him and asked, "Is this a new song or something?" (For those non-Worms fans, it wasn't a new song at all. Trevor was just giving him a hard time.) Later on down the road I can upload the images here as well.
Nov 21st:
A small update for today.
I've since upgraded to 3DS Max 8 and have been playing around with the new hair
renderer they've integrated into it. There's also a sneak peek of Nightcat's
(more realistic) hair in the 3D section as well as a small test animation I've
done of a close up of her eyes changing color. I've also added the sound
of a jaguar roaring to it so it looks like she's royally ticked off . I
may just keep that little piece of animation for the BIG sequence I want to do.
That's about it for the updates this time around but I am getting closer to
finishing off Nightcat's book So far I've got about 185 pages written up
and am aiming for the first draft to be completed before Christmas. Of
this year in case you're wondering.
July 26th: As Professor Farnsworth from Futurama
would say, "Good news everyone!" I've been busy working away like a busy little bee.
I've been heavily working on my 3d modelling, specifically Nightcat, which is located in the new 3D section.
I just need to skin the 3d model and then I can start animating her. I've already got an action sequence in mind and am
in the middle of storyboarding it. I've also painted an acrylic picture of Nightcat which is in the sketchbook. I've been
busily working away at a bunch of behind the scenes kind of things. I’ve currently got approximately 120 pages
(22,000 words) written up for “The Darkness of Shadows” and will be taking an online course within the next month so I
can learn the more about getting published. (So all of you can learn all about her origin)
I’ve also been crocheting my little brains out! I now am the proud owner
of a Strawberry Shortcake and friends pattern book so I’m working on Strawberry Shortcake right now. (I don’t have a
picture of what the finished product will look like but feel free to look at Leisure Arts or
Mary Maxim's web site.) I’m also in the
middle of sewing up a Spidergirl costume (both the black Venom version and the classic blue/red version, and yes I know
what you’re thinking. I am pathetic!) Once I’ve finished one (or both) I want to do up a section on tips and tricks to
sewing superhero costumes. I’ve looked far and wide on the internet and haven’t really come up with a whole bunch.
I think I’ve got everything mostly figured out and I’ll post pics when I’m finished.
Mar
15th: Holy Updates Batman! I've actually added content to the Nightcat section, complete with sketches, FAQ, BIO and a sneak preview of the book
"The Darkness of Shadows" that I'm writing which stars Nightcat.
I also got off my lazy butt (or on for that matter )
and started more sketches, some of which are even colored! Two new sketches in the Darkwing Section, one of Gosalyn looking innocent (yeah right LOL) and
another of poor Honker trying to hold Gos back because she looks like she's gonna pummel someone (Tank maybe??)
I also moved some of the previous sketches so now they are in the new Crossover section. There's also two new sketches
in that section as well. One is DW dressed as Wolverine and the other of Taz dressed as Darkwing. I may even do up a 2 panel comic with that idea.
Speaking of Jack Attack, I also uploaded my first completed Jack Attack comic. It's a mixture of 2D with 3D renderings. I'm still playing around with
the style and wanted to see what it would look like combining the two styles.
Whew, I hope I'm not missing anything! I think that's about it this time around. I'm still sketching so once those are
finished I'll add them here too. I also hope to get some scans of my acrylic paintings in the new future. Well, that's
about it, Peace Out Y'all!
Mar 1st: Another update! YAYYY!
I've added some more Darkwing sketches (soon to be colored. Well the ones I like anyway! )
And for your viewing pleasure: A Darkwing Duck/Futurama Crossover can also be found in the Darkwing Section.
Feb 8th:I've
reworked the backend of the website so it'll be easier
(and quicker) for me to add updates.
Some new things this update include a new section for my
cross stitch needlepoint. Right now there are
mostly fantasy designs done up but I'll be sure to add
the rest of my needlepoint when I get the chance.
I'm still in the process of adding the Nightcat
pages. Her bio's basically completed but I want to
get some more sketches of her done up and a bit more of
a write-up.
Jan 22: Today marks another significant
update. The most obvious of which would probably
be the site layout. In regards to artwork I've
added a couple more pages of Futurama art which houses
some more 3D art of Bender and some
crossovers/parodies. In the craft section I've
added a picture of a finished Nibbler plushie and a
partially made Bender plushie as well as a new Carebear.
New links include "About
the Author", a
small bio of me, and "About
the Site" which gives you a look at what's in
store for the future of the site. A mailing list
option was also added.
Nov 29th:
A few more pictures uploaded. I've been
working on a 3D modal of Bender for quite some time.
Now that I've been playing around with 3Ds MAX some
more, I'm starting to get the hang of it. I've
also uploaded a small animation of 3d Bender as well all
of which can be found on Page
3 in the Futurama Section. Just a small
update in the Plushie section. The Zoidberg
crochet doll is now fully clothed so I've uploaded a new
picture. I've got a crochet Nibbler doll
completed too, I just see to take a picture with my
digital camera. This should be done in the next
day or so.
Nov 16th: Not
a big update but I've added some pictures of the Care
Bear plushies I've crocheted. I'm almost finished off my
Zoidberg Plushie so pics will be added soon. I'm also
currently finishing off a crocheted Minnie Mouse which I
will add pictures when she is finished.
Nov 6th: The
Taz pictures section has been added under Doggie Domain
as well as Jack attack getting moved to that section.
New sections include: Comics, Misc Cartoons and Darkwing
Duck section.
Nov 2nd: I've
scanned many of my drawings and pictures and uploaded
them. The Gargoyles section has 6 new pics (Some of
Gargoyles done up Rocky Horror Picture Show style ;),
the Lion King section has now been added and currently
has 7 pictures, the Superheroes section has 5 new
pictures (includes one of a toddler Cyclops from X-Men)
and the Jack Attack section has been added with 5 total
pictures. Most of these are concept sketches that I plan
on doing up a 'good copy' in the near future. New
sections to come include comic strips (mostly
parodies/crossovers of various cartoons), misc cartoons
(Animaniacs, Earthworm Jim etc) and another new section
for my Star Trek pictures. These will be added as soon
as possible.
